White:

We had a brief from uni to explore the concept of white. Through research I looked at the idea of noting, the philosophy of nothing and whether or not nothing exists. The website explores this through a collaborative photo project. As print is having an ever increasing influence on the web I decided to apply existing print layouts to the pages of the website.

The website is actually one continuous HTML document which scrolls up and down to the different pages when the navigational buttons are used.  JQuery is used to create a smooth animation rather then it jumping up and down the page.

The first two pages after the splash explore the philosophy of nothing (placeholder type used for now). The half-tone image plays with both the idea of half full/half empty and whether there really is nothing in the top half of the glass. It illustrates the atomic theory and also links in with the print infuence being used on the web.

The final page is the gallery for images that have been sent in, showing images that people consider to capture the idea of nothing. The statement ”This is nothing” plays with the irony of the concept of nothing.
