Some digital design sheets from a project that I recently did.

I was asked to create a logo for “A Brighter Hope” a team of candidates running for positions in the Liverpool Hope SU elections. I was given the black and yellow colour scheme  and the name to work with.

The mark that I chose to run with is bold and distinctive, creating an easily recognisable campaign. It can be used in Yellow, Black or as a mask for images as it is the shape of the mark itself that is distinctive and recognisable, making it really versatile.

It is being used to start a viral campaign, being put up across the campus to get the mark into the conscious of the student population, it will then be linked with the team name when the camping gets going properly.

I felt that the name was long and more like a tag line, I wanted to find a way to make it more memorable to the student population by focusing in a little. The relation to Liverpool Hope university was a given and obviously “a” isn’t a descriptive word, so it was decided to focus in on “brighter” as this is the main point for the campaign. This was achieved through the using the letterform “B” as the recognisable mark, automatically focusing the message on “brighter”, making this the memorable aspect of the campaign.
