When I was in my first year at college our second project was to produce a range of anti-knife crime and domestic violence posters. It was a live brief that our tutor had set up with Crimestoppers and the police. They were offering the prize of a graphics tablet to two people who’s designs were chosen to be used.
I had one of my designs chosen & so received a graphics tablet (that turned out to be quite useful for the rest of the course) but I never heard anything about the design being used… until now.
I got a phone call from a friend to say that he had spotted it on his way out of the Courthouse Wetherspoon’s in Mansfield so I went down to take a look. It was designed as a billboard poster & they have cropped it down, because they have cropped out my text they have put it back in themselves, in a different typeface. It would have been nice to have been asked before they made changes to it but it’s great that I have design work out there in use and hopefully helping to make a difference.
