I have recently had the great pleasure of working with MATTOO producing promotional material for The MIST. It’s always a different design experience working with the expectations of others and being given art work to use and being told which typefaces should be used. It can be restricting but at the same time it can be liberating - knowing that the only thing you have to worry about is the layout. After sending some concepts I got feedback and pretty much a set of instructions as to how they flyer should look. In some ways it is nice to have a client who knows what they want - and the client gets what they want. However this doesn’t stop me from giving my input and advising what I feel would make good design and be effective for the project. After negotiation the client was specific in their wants and their reasons for this, leading to the final design.
